Getting Started
Once you've logged onto your Naviance Student account, familiarize yourself with the different features and resources available. For How To Videos, please visit our Naviance Tutorials page
- Welcome Page: We will post announcements and other important information here so check it often.
Colleges Tab
- SuperMatch College Search: You can enter criteria such as location, cost, size, and majors to create a list of potential colleges. You can edit your search and list at any time.
- College Lookup: You can look up a specific college and quick reference admissions requirements including average GPA and test scores, cost, majors, extracurricular activities, etc. This also provides a graph showing GPA and test scores of Plant students who were admitted to that specific university.
- My Colleges: Once you’ve researched colleges, you can create a list of colleges that you are interested in and ones you are applying to. If one of these colleges visits Plant, you will receive an email to sign up for the session.
- Transcripts/Recommendations: All seniors will request their transcript/recommendations for college admissions on the site. This can only be done on the student account. Keep in mind, you are requesting the transcript/recommendation, not sending it. Our registrar will send the transcript after you request it. The student should follow up with the teacher or counselor to ensure the recommendation request was received. For more information on transcripts, including how to obtain transcripts for athletics, scholarship, or other purposes, please visit our transcripts page. For more information on how to request letters of recommendation, please visit our recommendations page.
Careers Tab
- Explore Careers: Career clusters are a way of grouping careers with common features and skills. Careers grouped into the same cluster typically require similar education and training. Exploring clusters can be a useful way to find a good career match, especially if you have general areas of interest but are not sure what specific careers match those interests. Career clusters can also help you better understand how your coursework in school can prepare you for certain types of careers.
- Career Interest Profiler: This is a tool that can help you discover the types of work activities and careers that match your interest. The interest profiler has 180 questions about work activities that people do at their jobs.
About Me Tab
- My Resume: Input your activities and accomplishments from high school on this link. It will format a resume for you and allow you to print at a moment’s notice. Also, counselors and teachers have access to your resume if you’ve completed it.
- Brag Sheet Questionnaire: This questionnaire is required when requesting a letter of recommendation. For more information about requesting a letter of recommendation, please visit our recommendation page.
