School Counseling & Student ServicesH. B. Plant High School has a student services team to meet the school and personal developmental needs of students. This team is made up of six school counselors, a college resource counselor, a full & part time social worker, and a school psychologist.
The school counselors focus on the development of the whole student providing personal social, academic, college, and career counseling. Support is provided for students through individual counseling and through classroom presentations by grade level. We strive for all students to be advocates on their educational journey and are excited to be a part of this very important time in their lives. Counselors focus on student outcomes providing structured lessons for students to attain desired competencies. The school social workers provide community resources to students and families, assist with personal support, and oversee attendance to help assure students meet attendance expectations. Social workers work with community programs and volunteers who are part of the school mentoring program and facilitate crisis interventions. The school psychologist provides personal support to students and performs psychological evaluations and testing. |
