Assigned School Counselors & the College ProcessAll of the assigned (alpha) school counselors at Plant provide individualized assistance to students to assist them with finding the career or the college that will best fit their needs, interests, and aspirations. Counselors meet with each senior on their caseload to assist students and their families with every step of the college planning process. In addition, assigned counselors write the college letter of recommendation for their seniors.
Mrs. Wolford attended University. She was a former college and career counselor and has been assisting seniors at Plant with the college process for 5 years. Seniors can book an appointment through Canvas. Ms. Poirier attended the Florida State University. She has served as a school counselor for 21 years and has been assisting seniors at Plant with the college process for 6 years. Seniors can book an appointment through Canvas. Mrs. Dicus attended the University of Florida and earned a Masters in School Counseling from USF. She has served as a traditional school counselor and IB counselor is currently the student services department head at Plant. Mrs. Dicus has assisted students with the college process for nearly 18 years. Seniors can book an appointment through Canvas. Mrs. Castellano attended the University of Tampa where she also earned a Masters in school counseling and has served as a school counselor for over 25 years. She has been assisting seniors at Plant with the college process for 5 years. Seniors can book an appointment through Canvas. Ms. Litwak attended Florida Southern College where she also earned a Masters in school counseling. She has served as a school counselor for close to 15 years and has been assisting seniors at Plant with the college process for nearly 10 years. Seniors can book an appointment through Canvas. |
College Resource OfficeThe College & Career Resource Office located in room 101 is designed to provide students access to computers to allow them to utilize resources. Seniors can work on college and scholarship applications during the school day. Mrs. Moseley is an additional resource for primarily juniors and seniors to provide general information about testing, scholarships, and the college process and works closely with college admissions representatives. Upperclassmen can attend "college visits" with college representatives.
